Good lists to dig into once you’ve used up this one. The Spanish-language sites are often the most current; the “in English” links open them through Google Translate.
Lists worth saving
- Dua Lipa’s Mexico City list on Google Maps – 12 places, from Contramar to a salsa club. Save it to your own Google Maps
- Eater’s 38 best restaurants in Mexico City – updated a few times a year, with a map
- Michelin Guide: Mexico City – every starred, Bib Gourmand and recommended restaurant in the city. Use the filters for stars or Bib Gourmand (good food at moderate prices)
- Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants and North America’s 50 Best Bars – Mexico City always has a big share of both
Magazines and local guides, in English
- Time Out Mexico City – the English edition. Start with the best restaurants in Mexico City
- CDMX Secreta – what’s on this week, pop-ups and openings. See Things to do and Food & drink
- Local.mx – long, careful pieces on restaurants, design and neighborhoods
- Visit Mexico City – the city’s official tourism site, good for events and museum hours
In Spanish (opened in English through Google Translate)
- Time Out México – the Spanish edition, which has far more than the English one: restaurants
- Chilango – the city magazine: what to do and food
- Food & Pleasure – restaurants, bars and cafés: foodandpleasure.com
The trick works for any Spanish site: replace each dot in the address with a dash (and each dash with two), add .translate.goog, and put ?_x_tr_sl=es&_x_tr_tl=en at the end. Or just open the page in Chrome and click Translate.
